From Rust to Riches Submission Guidelines

  • Show Dates are Thursday, July 2 through Thursday, July 30, 2015.
  • This show will be “driven” by art with old or new cars (or other personal vehicles such as motorcycles, tractors, family vans) or car parts in it.
  • The exhibit will be located at the General Gomez ARTS and Event Center, 808 Lincoln Way in Auburn, California
  • Prizes and awards will be given
  • Due to popular demand the entry date has been extended. Applications are due online or in person no later than Wednesday June 24, 2015.
  • Artwork submitted will be by digital image or (by mail or in person) photograph of the piece. No actual artwork will be accepted for consideration.
  • Each artwork submitted for consideration must be accompanied by a non-refundable entry fee of $25.
  • A collection of jewelry may be submitted as one artwork, provided it can be displayed within a 15″ glass cube.
  • The show will be publicized through local media, online and direct e-mail.
  • Artists are requested to submit a 250 word (maximum length) personal bio including interests or facts about the piece of art with the application for use in publicity.
  • All artwork submitted must be priced and for sale.
  • Entries will be juried for acceptance.
  • Notification of pieces accepted into the exhibit will be announced on Friday June 26, 2015.
  • By entering, artist gives permission for images submitted to be used by General Gomez for publicity purposes.
  • Accepted work must be hand-delivered to the General Gomez ARTS and Event Center, 808 Lincoln Way, Auburn, CA between 11 am and 8 pm on Monday, June 29.
  • All flat artwork must be clean, properly framed and wired (“saw tooth” hangers are not acceptable) and ready to hang. Entry fee refunds will not be given for artwork which cannot be hung.
  • The show will be curated at the sole discretion of the Art Hanging Committee.
  • Artists are invited to “meet and greet” art collectors at the Opening Reception on Thursday, July 2, from 5 – 9 pm
  • Artwork sales during the show will be handled by the General Gomez ARTS and Event Center. Artists will receive 75% of the sales price. GG will retain as 25% sales commission.
  • Artwork sold during the show may be taken by the buyer, and the artist will be contacted and invited to hang a replacement piece.
  • Unsold artwork must be picked up on Friday, July 31 between 10 am and 2 pm at 808 Lincoln Way in Auburn, CA.
