Aqua Vistas Submission GUIDELINES

  • Show Dates are Saturday, March 28 through Saturday, April 25, 2015.
  • This exhibit will showcase the beauty of our areas natural water resources and related activities.
  • The exhibit will be located at the General Gomez ARTS and Event Center, 808 Lincoln Way in Auburn, California
  • A first prize cash award of $300 will be given.
  • Other awards will be given, including Viewer’s Choice.
  • Applications are due online or in person no later than Thursday March 19, 2015.
  • Artwork submitted will be by digital image or (by mail or in person) photograph of the piece. No actual artwork will be accepted for consideration.
  • Each artwork submitted for consideration must be accompanied by a non-refundable entry fee of $25.
  • A collection of jewelry may be submitted as one artwork, provided it can be displayed within a 15″ glass cube.
  • The show will be publicized through local media, online and direct e-mail.
  • Artists are requested to submit a 100 word bio with the application for use in publicity.
  • All artwork submitted must be priced and for sale.
  • Entries will be juried for acceptance.
  • Notification of pieces accepted into the exhibit will be announced on Friday, March 20, 2015.
  • By entering, artist gives permission for images submitted to be used by General Gomez to promote AQUA VISTAS.
  • Accepted work must be hand-delivered to the General Gomez ARTS and Event Center, 808 Lincoln Way, Auburn, CA between 10 am and 8 pm on Monday and Tuesday, March 23-24.
  • All flat artwork must be clean, properly framed and wired (“saw tooth” hangers are not acceptable) and ready to hang. Entry fee refunds will not be given for artwork which cannot be hung.
  • The show will be curated at the sole discretion of the Art Hanging Committee.
  • Artists are invited to “meet and mingle” with art collectors at the Opening Reception on Saturday, March 28, from 6:30 pm – 9 pm.
  • Artwork sales during the show will be handled by the General Gomez ARTS and Event Center. Artists will receive 75% of the sales price. GG will retain as 25% sales commission.
  • Artwork sold during the show may be taken by the buyer, and the artist will be contacted and invited to hang a replacement piece.
  • Unsold artwork must be picked up on Monday, April 27, between 10 am and 1 pm at 808 Lincoln Way in Auburn, CA.
